About Drawings
I draw on Bristol paper, 11x14 in size, 100% cotton, acid free, archival with a two-ply vellum surface. The 11x14 drawing fits into a 11x14 frame with a 7.5x9.5 opening or a 12x16 frame with a 8.5x11.5 mat opening or a 14x18 frame with a 9.5x12.5 opening. The specs of frame and mat can be discussed once I have reviewed submitted photo. By staying within the standard sizes, I try to keep the framing economical. Your picture will be matted with a gallery quality mat and have a plastic envelope for protection.
I can work from several photos to capture personality and likeness. However one good photo with good lighting can also work if you have a favorite. Please have your photo of the subject taken at face level showing the eyes.

Susan Stafford
"I aim to capture your subjects pesonality."
I have been drawing and studing art all my life. Although an art student in college, I now have more time to persue this passion. Most of my adult life I have spent as a professional golf instructor, which I may add requires a lot of creativity.
When I draw, I aim to capture the expressions and personalities of people and their pets. For years I have made relatives and friends happy with pencil drawings of loved ones. I now share my talents with others so you too may have an original drawing at an affordable price, to cherish and pass down for generations to come.
What my Clients Say
"Susan Stafford is an artist of phenomenom talents. In New Jersey, the story of Sammy the abused Cocker Spaniel is already known world wide. Susan drew his picture after he recovered and it hangs in the veterinary hospital where he was cared for and brought back to life. This drawing is to remind all who enter that while theri pets may be pampered, not all animals are. Susan so accurately captured the hope in Sammy's eyes that he seems to be thanking you. I highly recommend Susan, and know you will be satisfied."

"The drawing of our two poodles speaks volumes about the artist, my sister who presented the gift and what having poodles has meant to our lives. The artist has captured their personalities, one very sensitive and gentle, while the other inquisitive and effervescent. Along the journey of life, when a rescued dog rescues a human, hearts beat ever so gently. These two beautiful poodles were rescued and hearts in our family now beat to a gentle drum. Susan has captured the depth of their souls mirrored in their eyes. Thank you."

"Oh , the love between a man and his dog. Susan has captured this emotion perfectly without knowing the expression on Dennis's face. She understands and translates those feelings with paper and pencil and with skill and passion. The Bond between Dennis, a paraplegic, and Bucky his service dog, is extraordinary as is Susan's ability to show it in her drawings. Thank you Sue for creating this wonderful gift."

" When I received my drawing of my nephew and the guide dog puppy I was truly delighted. The detail is amazing and so very life like. Heidi, did graduate and became a seeing eye dog and my nephew Adam did cry when they were separated but all is well once again with more seeing eye dogs coming and going. I recommend Susan to anyone looking for such a special gift of love for themselves, friend or family."
